Got home from lunch with the wife, shut the garage door, heard a weird noise and my chain went limp (yeah, I know how that sounds.) Climbed up to see that the drive gear had completely sheered off....just got done ordering a whole new opener as this is apparently a typical problem for this model.
On a good note, the new one I bought has three times the light output in the garage, new (and better) sensors, a new outside keypad (mine never worked), a new indoor opener button (mine is a pos), and of course it's a new and quiter opener itself.

Great way to turn a problem into a nice mod! I replaced mine about a year ago and really like having the outside keypad.

Well, just got back from Sears to pick up the new one and got stuck in a hail storm with nowhere to hide....I'm almost sure my truck has damage. Taking our "tornado precautions" now as there was apparently a touch down near 24th and Lindsey and could pop up anywhere on the East side of Norman...which is where I am.

Yeah, if the garage door had not broken, the truck would be tucked away and I wouldn't have been out in this shit.
