You don't HAVE to have projectors, they are just preferred.
I honestly think it's a combo of the housings and HIDs. If they HIDs are shit, they are just shit. If the headlight housing doesn't reflect well, then you won't utilize all of the light correctly.

IF you want parts, let me know - I get them from TRS and sell them cheaper than they do.
fuck me, a grand on a retro.......LOL - my 2nd gens are half that, with everyfuckingthing you need (from new lights, hids, projectors, labor). I think half those guys over there are nuts to try to "command" the "3-500" in labor. Yeah, I have little overhead, but $500 is absurd for a basic retro.
Can lights get VERY expensive? YES. But thats when you add in paint, 55W HIDs, LEDs, halos
OK.......rant over. sorry. LOL

If you want damn good hids and cheap go to ddmtuning.com that's where I order all of mine from and never have had one problem. Slow shipping but worth it. I think my 55w 10ks were like $55

It's the other way around...less "k" = more light output, more "k" = more color but far less output.

Im guna get some 6ks....i was looking at my headlights and i fuckn hate them i should have got clear lenses i have a silver truck chrome grill and bumper and BLACK headlughts WTF was i thinking
