So just for shit's and grins I contacted my corporate lawyer andthis is what he told me

The legality of this issue all depends upon how the image is going to be used. Is it for commercial or just "viewing" purposes? If it is for commercial purposes, and is going to be used to promote something of a commercial nature then you have to get what we call a "photo release". Otherwise if the image is for "Just Viewing" purposes, and they took the photo from a public space in what we call "plain view" then it is legal. But to answer your question about the company water marking your photo's yes they are claiming rights to your photo.

I know this does not involve our current work matters but let me know if you want me to proceed any further with the company at fault.
