Cam Swap Veterans????
Anyone familiar with changing a hemi cam??? Or know any good shops that can do it? I'm looking into a 392 Chally cam for the Ram.....and it's looking good so far!

I'm ballsy enough to try and swap a cam on my truck, but don't feel comfortable experimenting on someone else's truck... I don't think it's really all that difficult, just a lot of tear down on the front of the engine. I've changed a head gasket on my old 4.7L with overhead cams and it can't be as bad as that...

So a 392 cam works in our engines? Any idea on power gains?

Man that would be awesome!! Keep us updated

I wondered if this would pop up one day...kind of like back in the day when everyone was putting the 6.1 cams in their trucks.

I'm talking to the pioneer right now on RamZ...he has all the parts...just waiting to do it. The pushrod part numbers are the exact same for the Ram hemi and the 392 Chally...so good news....and the 392 cam is only 64 bucks :) It would only be 250 in parts....total!
And Morgan....I have access to the auto shop on base and am ballsy enough to let someone else break my truck! :) |

I'll let you know and we can tag team two cams in one weekend!!!! Gotta talk to Mr. HemiFever ASAP :)
I think I can order a cam now just in case....64 bucks is nothing! |
Awesome!! That's not a bad deal at all
