Thoughts?
Alright.... I know i'm looking at buying another truck but... if for some unknown reason the contract I will be reading tomorrow for the new truck seems sketchy and I back out....
What do you guys think about these on my truck? Not a huge fan of the tires but I think it's a pretty good deal http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-WHEELS-RI...item5d30bf3ea4 |
They look pretty sweet, but I'd have to see a chop first. They'd make your truck sit up pretty high with those tires lol
It depends what direction you want to take the truck.
THOSE wheels are effin bad ass
yeah I know dude... I was not going to go this route with the truck but I have some pretty good ideas for what I want to do to it... I'm going to try and get my level kit on there before I come down to OK for break..
But before I do all this... When I was at the dealer looking to buy the new truck I had the truck serviced and found that I need upper and lower ball joints and new U joint so I'm going to take care of that first before any tires or lift is put on. |
Ordered or debating?
debating.... this is the direction i'm headed in D.
or does that kinda stuff not belong on a 1500? I think my truck with the level them rims and the toyo mt's with that bumper would look pretty tits.. I would not put the red rings on the rims either it would be all black |

this is how the stock brackets are as you can see the big bumper pads are welded on http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68...y/774331fa.jpg this is the aftermarket bumper and the brackets for it http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68...y/e3d986ea.jpg ummm http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68...y/e8f91d49.jpg so you have to cut the bumper pads off the front frame horns to make it work |
I see.. I caslled top gun customs and they told me that that bumper would fit my 08' 1500 with all the parts needed to install.. I asked him like 12 times "are you sure" because if I get a 500 pound bumper that does not fit i'm going to burn your shit down......
But I see your problem there... I'm going to call and let dude know this... On the tires, thats why I dont want them because as much driving as I do i'm not going to buy tires that last me 4 months and they are done.. I really like the look of the tires but not enought to buy a new set every 4 months.. I'm trying to stay from the 35's I have always been a fan of trucks with 20's and 33's MT tires. I like the way it looks but we will see |
I say go for it if the bumper will bolt on.
did you get a chance to talk to them
Not yet.. Shit's been crazy with work. I'm going to give them a shout tomorrow.
Alright guys.. So they do not make The Ballistic Jesters (the wheels I posted in page 1) in my bolt pattern anymore... So my search has pressed forward.
I have 2 other wheels I need your thoughts on: http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/...TFKqYzQ_12.jpg http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/...qBi6g60_12.jpg I really like the BMF wheels.. But the Moto Metal ones look almost like the Jesters.. I would paint the silver ring black on the Moto Metals. The rims will be wrapped in the Kumho Road Venture MT's 33" Or you guys throw out some wheels that you have seen that you like........ No Fuel wheels or KMC's as the trend with them are getting way too repetitive Thanks guys! |
any particular reason you're going 33"s over 35"s
I like the moto metal ones
i prefer the second ones though
I like the look of the 33" tire with a 20" wheel... I'm weird about 2 things not matching.. I don't like their to be more tire than rim.. or to much rim and not enough tire.... If that makes sense

yeah no doubt.. But also i'm only doing a 2" level and I think 35's would look really...stuffed with just a level.. and from what I hear with 06-08 rams a 35 with a level will rub like shit during minimal off road.. which would be like me driving the pipeline R.O.W's up here.. not looking for rubbing issues
This truck has a 2" level with 33" 12.50 tires.. I think it looks perfect

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y68...325_363813.jpg mine with a level and 35's i have a couple better pictures i gotta find ... i didn't use any spacers and the 35's i had had huge lugs on the outsides of the tire and that rubbed on the edge of the a-arm and then at full lock i rubbed on the inside on the sway bar .. but i 4wheeled all the time and it never affected anything all it does it rub some paint off of both parts listed... they def don't damage anything by rubbing .. you couldn't even really tell on the tire but if i wouldve used the 1/4 spacers or since you're getting rims you can get a bit more offset you shouldn't rub at all .... now if you go something with high offset yes you will rub on the outside BUT if you are getting a aftermarket bumper they are clearanced way higher right there and then again you shouldn't have any issues i've ran 35's on stock wheels and 20x10 with high offset |
yeah I don't want a huge offset.. if I can get a 20x9 i'll prolly run that. not really looking for a 20x10 wheel
What would be a good offset? like I said nothing crazy just something to push the tires out a bit |
i like the wheels but i agree, it depends on what direction you take the truck. If you do, i'm not fond of the red much, so id probly paint those silver to match your truck. but thats just me.
i'm pretty sure he already ordered them
