Did a few mods on Friday. First was the tint, went with 10% all around and a 5% windshield brow. It's perfect for what I wanted. Still a bit hard to see when backing a trailer at night with the windows up, but otherwise it's fine. I also installed my new Bedrug, RollBak bed cover and drop in AEM filter from the old truck, and stole the Moes 87mm throttle body from the Jeep. Sorry for the we pics, it's been raining non-stop for 3 days. Hopefully my tires will be here today...

Then Saturday I hitched up the trailer with 300 miles on the clock. Had to do some porch work for my mother-in-law so needed the trailer to haul some wood. Trailer is about 900 lbs and I had probably 300 lbs loaded on it. It was barely noticeable on my 100 mile round trip. The truck did down shift on about half of the hills but I absolutely love the quick seamless shifts of the 8 speed. The old 5 speed that I had in my 2010 1500 and even the 6 speed in the Power Wagon allowed you to lose a lot of speed up a hill before dropping a gear. The 8 speed drops to 7th gear before you start losing speed, the way it should be. The Power Wagon on heavy 35s was terrible about dropping 4-5 MPH before down shifting then you're trying to play catch up and it ends up dropping to 4th, then you're going 4 MPH over what the cruise was set at when you got to the top of a hill (short Oklahoma rolling hills).

I also installed my BilletTech catch can and my Diablo inTune with 87 canned tune. Forgot about those...

Yes, you can shut the tailgate with the cover fully closed. It seals against the inside edge of the tailgate, not the top of the gate like the Bakflip.

Forgot about one more mod that was installed right after I picked up the truck. My center console lock box. These are very well built and fit perfect. Not sure how big of a gun you could easily get in there, but i can fit my little Taurus .45 in there with no problems. With the cover on, you can't tell there's a safe there.

Here's a link to his facebook page to anyone who's interested (Great prices compared to the other options): https://www.facebook.com/ramlockbox
And his email: [email protected]

can you shoot some pics of the cover? I'm thinking about something new.......freakin' hate having to hold it up when I shut the damn tailgate. Hard as hell when you've got a box in your hands.

I didn't have that problem with my old Bakflip, I guess I had an earlier version.

Here's some pics from when I installed it on the PW. I will warn you that it doesn't seal up at the tailgate as well as the Bakflip... I'll get some better ones for you shortly...

My father-in-law has the Retrax on his 2010 and I like it too. Only negatives are that it's plastic and you can hear it rattling around if you're riding with the back window open and you have to use the key to open it every time. It does seem to seal up better though.

The BAK Roll-X looks pretty good too.
