Kyle..I've felt one earthquake ever and it was while I was at work...on the 12th floor. I was just sitting there with my feet propped on an open drawer and suddenly my chair rolled back...my Sgt next door started yelling, "What the fuck! What the fuck!" I just laughed.
As for carrying at work, no. Once you are on the secure side of the jail (i.e. anywhere an inmate is) no one carries a firearm. All of us carry OC and the Lts carry pepper ball guns...imagine a pistol sized paintball gun with a laser pointer loaded with paint balls that are filled with a baby powder form of OC...not fun, but funny to see in action (as long as you aren't the one getting shot at.)
