Default Great weekend

I know I missed some great track time, great car shows, and C&C but it was well worth it.

My wife and I are celebrating our sixth anniversary on the 27th and so I booked a bed and breakfast for us this weekend (since next weekend was booked due to Memorial day). We stayed at a little hole in the wall place that, when I first saw it, made me second guess my decision. However, once you understand it's a very old building and that it's clean and sound, you feel better about it. We spent the weekend hiking, swimming in Little Niagra, and biking the trails. We went up to Bromide cliff (the hard way, via the trails) and it was a beautiful day for looking out over the area.

A couple places I want to let you guys know about:

1. Sulphur Springs Inn. It's a great little bed and breakfast that is definitely rustic. There isn't a radio, tv, OR shower in the rooms. There is a toilet and sink in each room but there is a separate mens and womens shower room that is private enough that you aren't like showering with other dudes but if you want to shower with your spouse...it's not really possible. Charlie, the gentleman that runs it is amazing, can tell you all about the area and places to see and eat, and also cooks one hell of a breakfast.

2. Smokin Joes BBQ. H...O...L...Y...SHIT. It's south of Davis on 77. It's so good we ate there both nights (there aren't a lot of choices in the area anymore). Also, one "Two meat platter" is MORE than enough for two people. We threw food away both times.

3. Arbuckle Wilderness Fried Pies. Check it out. It's actually right off of I35 on your way down to Dallas so the next time you go, swing in. It's SOOO bad for you but hot damn they are good. They come in sweet varieties like cherry, strawberry, apple, etc but also breakfast (DAMN) and dinner.

I've been to the bbq place and the pie place you are talking about and will back your statement up.

I'm glad you guys had a good time. Did you leave the rugrat with your parents?

I figured so. Some B&B won't allow children's.
