Default Ditching the tonneau

I'm thinking about ditching my soft tonneau cover. I know it doesn't flow with the look of the truck at all but I REALLY like the semi-secure and completely obscured bed. I found a tonneau that is perfect for my future plans, but it is a grand without paint. I have an exterior mod that I want to do that will look kickass but I either have to wait for the new tonneau (that will be a ways out) OR go ahead and ditch my soft one.

Thoughts?

So you can't do this new mod with the soft cover on? What about the undercover smooth tonneau cover? Will that work with your plans? It's a lot cheaper than the fiberglass covers and is still paintable.

How often do you have something in the bed that needs protection from the elements? If not often or never, I'd say go ahead and ditch it

Might as well get what you want Dave. I think I might know the exterior mod, but I'm not sure..

part of me has been thinking of a different thing........but I can't bring myself to do it.

a topper.

yeah....there are a LOT of days that I fill that bed 2x to take headlights out for shipping.

So, I have 2 options:
1 - slow the f down on the freakin' lights............right.
2 - take 2 trips

Who am I kidding, I'm not putting an old man topper on my bitch

I'd buy a little trailer before I put on a topper...
