Default E-fan

I'm wanting to put an e-fan on my truck. And I can get one, my uncle has a 98 Chevy Malibu that we're gonna take to the scrap yard. But it's got a good fan on it. Could I use it on my truck? And how would I mount it and hook it in?

All you need to do is make a simple bracket...something that will easily hold the e-fan to your radiator. Chances are your radiator has holes along the top of it's mount that you can use by making equally sized holes in whatever bracket you make.

Hooking it up is a little more difficult to do correctly. Let me do some research and get back to you on how I did it on my '04. The trick is to have it only hook to your truck via the battery and nothing else.

You can buy a thermostat kit from an auto parts store that you can use It consists up a sensor wire, relays and I think even a dead man switch if you want an override. You can also find these lits in Jegs or Summit racing.

What he said. Get a good thermostat kit (the sensor just slides in the radiator carefully) and wire the fan directly to the battery with the relay and a good fuse (big audio style).

I hope your fan is big enough...whats the diameter?

Most junkyard hunters try to find a Lincoln MkV or similar sized 18 inch fan

Ok I'm still wanting to do this, don't think I'm going to get the fan off of my uncles car. So what are some cars to look for if I go to a junkyard?
