Yeah I don't want to get anything that in the long run will end up messing up the sub.. this is that last ditch effort on the system.. What I buy now will stay for awhile

ya its a very beefy sub and will take much more power than that 600 if you wanted to upgrade ... it would easily take 1k

And Matt would know as he's got an audio addiction problem...I've seen the picture of his "stash."

I think i'm going to go with the type R.. I just don't want to have to screw around what that rockford if the basket is to bulky to fit in the box..

Should I go with the 2ohm or 4ohm sub? what the hells the difference?

The Type R's are dual voice coil, so if you are running a single sub off a mono block amp, you'll need a 4 ohm DVC sub. I am running a 10" Alpine Type R and am very pleased with it. That amp a will be a nice match. This is what you need:

just realize you are stepping way down from the RF or the JL ... i can understand just wanting to do it easy but there is a huge upgrade to the other subs, just know that before buying i've ran 2 of the type r alpine 10's in my truck so i know specifically about these subs

ohm is a measure of impedance there isn't one better than the other its just a way to maximize a wider range of amplifiers so for your amp morgan is right you'll want a dual 4 ohm sub (then when you get it wire the sub in parallel which means pos to pos and neg to neg on both coils the alpine has a jumper for this you'll see)

Thanks Morgan and Matt..

Matt I know it's a step fown from the JL or the rockford but i'm pretty sure that these will do what i'm looking for a lot of good reviews about running these while playing rock/metal.. and I don't want to have to deal with fitment issues.. I'm not looking for show comp audio just a better sound then what I have now.

Thank you again for your help and input dude I appreciate it
