Default Ram Special Services Police Truck

Seen this?

Bull bars. Reinforced ballistic doors. Heavy-load capability. A 5.7 Hemi V8. This is one extreme law-enforcing police truck.
The Ram Special Services Police Truck has been designed to dole out punishment to bad guys who run afoul of the long arm of the law.Featuring such awesome law-enforcing accoutrements like bull bars, door supports with ballistic protection capability, four-wheel drive configuration and a 5.7-liter V8 engine capable of producing 390hp and 407lb-ft of torque, the police-spec Ram is one pursuit vehicle not to mess with.

The truck contains a 3.92 axle ratio designed for a quick acceleration to make use of the over 400lb-ft of torque the Hemi engine can produce. A 220-amp alternator has also been equipped to help handle the load the electric gadgetry needed for police work puts on the truck. A unique wiring harness has been engineered to handle the toll the radar, lighting, radio equipment and computer also put out on the pursuit vehicle. The Ram 1500 sits on a set of steel wheels wrapped in Goodyear tires. It boasts both best-in-class ride and handling and a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, meaning police won't be shy when they hear a call to action.

"The Ram 1500 Special Service Truck has been engineered to handle the severe demands of Law Enforcement... This package expands our portfolio of hardworking vehicles available to state and local governments," said Peter Grady, Vice President of Network Development and Fleet, Chrysler Group LLC.Check out the gallery of the Ram Special Services Police Truck and look out for the police-spec Ram when you hit the road.

I think they should have called Jeremy for a blacked out set of lights with strobes and red and blue halos...

"Ballistic protection capability"?

To what level? Inquiring minds want to know....how to get it!

I'll assume the "easy rider rifle rack" comes standard. <young folks probably won't get that one.

This would be awesome for the border patrol.

That's pretty slick and reminds me of a convo I had with my dad last week. He is a police officer in Tulsa and has been for over 22 years. Anyway, last winter when the blizzard hit in Feb. many of the officers had to use their personally owned 4WD's bc the patrol cars just couldn't hack it. So with that said, the day after this conversation he had to get training on a police Tahoe 4X4 w/ a winch and other tactical goodies. Which, actually means, he got to drive the piss out of it around their private test track... Shoulda followed in the old man's foot steps...
