Default New toy

Well, after the guy with the wheels flaked I tossed the idea of getting an aftermarket headunit for my truck around. While thinking about it, my dad asked if I wanted to go to the range and fire his new .38...sure, why not? We ended up at two different stores, the last being H&H.

I've been wanting a gun (other than the 30.06 passed down to me) for a while and just seem to spend my money elsewhere. After putting my hands on numerous guns and then renting a couple to try out, I decided on a S&W 9mm M&P. It's a great gun! I could have gone larger with a .40 or .45 but I wanted something that my wife could handle and, frankly, 9mm ammunition is cheap and readily available. It also helped that it was a tax free weekend on anything S&W.

Yep, its the best thing I ever did. It's a comforting feeling walking through the mall during the Christmas craziness knowing you have 12 9mm hollow points within arms reach! Never know what those crazy bastards will do. I carry mine loaded and chambered. Just a quick flip of the safety and I'm ready to rock. I can even flip off the safety when its still in the holster under my shirt without anyone noticing.

Here is what I carry, Taurus PT111 9mm.

Also have a S&W SW9VE 9mm that stays in my nightstand.

Nice Morgan.

I was actually going to get the compact version of my gun to make it easier to carry, but it just wasn't a comfortable feel...if anything, I'll get a nice shoulder holster than can be hidden under a button down shirt. I like your point about going to the mall and such...it's bad when I feel like large crowds are just waiting for some whack job to start going nutty.

You can always get another to carry! My larger S&W is more comfortable to shoot but its too big and bulky to conceal. I think my Taurus was only like $320 at academy. Its about the same size as a Glock 26 but with a larger more comfortable grip.
