I got my best mileage yesterday with 87 octane 100% gas and it was a whopping 13.5, according to the computer which has been pretty close. This was about 100 miles of highway driving at about 70 mph... Before that with 89 octane ethanol blend I was getting about 11 mpg with mixed driving. I think the big change was due to the 100% non-ethanol gas.

Yeah, I ran ethanol free gas whenever i could in my other truck. it did make a difference. you could tell a pretty fair difference from 87 w/ ethanol to ethanol free 91.

Keep the tires rotated and balanced and you wont have a problem. The front tires will cup if you don't and then it will sound like you have a set of TSL's on it and there is nothing you can do about it until it's time for a new set.

As for the gas gauge, you probably need a new sending unit. Unplug it at the tank as see if it drops to "E" If it does then it's the sending unit, if not it's the gauge.

If it's the sending unit then it will probably be easier to pull the bed than to drop the tank.

yeah, replacing the fuel pump is no big deal. I've done it twice before. 6 or 8 bolts and remove the bed lol. easy enough. but i was surprised at how little the tires wine because of the agressiveness of the tread. and very little play in the steering wheel. no shimmy or vibration. not at all what i expected from this truck. just made me that much happier lol. and it still has the original dash w/ no cracks! all it needs is a deep cleaning and a cupholder
