That's a very nice work area. Are you building more storage into other areas of the basement?

a LOT more

There is another 15ft of shelving units going in between the "work" area and where we are putting in a pantry and bathroom. Then on the other side of the steps (steps come down on the wall where the workbench is) - there will be another 2 units in a big L - that is.....20 ft for one, and 15 for another (ish). Then the entire side wall will be shelving for the family shit. LOL

This was phase 1 of.......4. Bathroom and pantry are next. Then the 15ft between them, then the other 2 shelving areas are last phase.

What do you guys think about the Outdoorsman model? I still haven't ruled out the Diesel option, which you cannot get in the Sport model. It would need new wheels and tires and black projector headlights, but otherwise I like it. I don't get the nicer all black interior or push button start like the Sport or Laramie, but I don't think the gray/black looks bad at all and I can live with the old fashion keys. I can always get the Laramie diesel but it's another $5k on top of the Outdoorsman, which is more than I want to spend. The Laramie also has a bit too much chrome for me. The chrome bumpers on the monotone Outdoorsman don't bother me and I could probably get them powder coated to match. Leather isn't a big deal either. $800 for some Katskin seats solves that problem.

I think its a great start. I think if I were to go look now....I'd probably start with an Outdoorsman.

You can get them monotone too......which to me would be the way to go. No chrome bumpers then, you get the flares, etc.

That one I posted was monotone. With monotone you get body color flares and chrome bumpers. With the two tone you get painted bumpers. Here's the two-tone.

They probably had the bumpers painted. I wish monotone was really monotone...

Crunched some numbers and in my situation, it would take 3.7 years to break even on a diesel figuring today's fuel prices and 17 mpg for a Hemi and 25 mpg for a diesel along with the maintenance and DEF. I can't guarantee that I'll have this truck in 3.7 years. LOL. If I did get the diesel it would be because I wanted it not because it made financial sense.

I'm also not crazy about a diesel with my driving habits. The truck gets driven 5 miles round trip in the mornings to drop the kiddo off at daycare and then I'm back in the company car. I'll typically drive the truck once a week to work just because, which would become more mandatory if we don't take a weekend trip so it could re-gen... I think I'll stick to the Hemi...

Here's the spreadsheet if anyone's interested.
