Default Stupid Charger

I bought some AAC HOD lights for the Charger a while back. Wife called me Monday and said one was out already, which was kind of surprising. Since I wasn't really happy with the output, I decided to get a set of HIDs. Went with a NightVision kit with a relay harness. Got them installed yesterday and the firggin flicker and randomly shut down. I emailed the guy at Retro-Solutions and I need a stupid capacitor. Guess it's off to the Shack to see if I can fix it. Gotta make sure they are reliable since my wife is the one driving it every day.

Yeah Todd from retro solutions will tell you what you need.. I guess my truck is the only dodge ram in america that needed capacitors. Everyone else just had to use resistors.

He's a pretty good guy. I bought my projectors and new HID bulbs from him for the truck. My HID kit came from Unique Coatings since he wasn't around the other forums at that time, but it works perfectly and I have had no issues at all with it.

I hope a capacitor fixes it, can't have these flickering like a disco party all the time.

No halos for me. Just Morimoto projectors in the truck and p-n-p HIDs in the charger. I'm not really going for flashy here, just want better light output since both vehicles suck ass in that department.

And I hear you on the inspection part. I don't drive the Charger all that much so I really have to keep an eye on things. I always tell her let me know when you get close to xxx miles so I can go buy some oil, but it doesn't seem to work. Or I drive it and hear a weird sound, oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about that...

Depends on your definition of plug and play....

Not necessarily dude. I ran straight ebay cheapo pnps on both my S10s and never had a problem and have done tons of installs on friends and family cars with no problems. The newer Dodge tech's are bitches and like to "encrypt" and make everything hard on these.

What I would do if I were you Colton is buy a cheap set off ebay. However, are your headlights crystal clear or do they have those refracted lenses (little lines all through the lenses)?

I put a cheap set on my 4 wheeler and they seem to be holding up fine though all the rough riding and being dunked in water and mud... I think they were less than $40 shipped...
