Wow, very sorry it didn't work out for you. As a dad of a teenager I encourage her to think for herself and come to me with facts to support her position. BUT if I say no, then the answer is no, period. Often she seems to think that no means maybe and that she just needs to debate her facts better...this is when I feel that she is defying my authority.
Stay humble...it will all work out.
