not necessarily alot of lower end amps just make the speakers louder and don't help with the sound quality the better amps have alot better components and that makes a big difference and also better...

if you're looking to get louder i'd start at building another box ... one of the cheaper upgrades you can do .. the box for the sub is atleast 60% of the sound

run a remote wire from the head unit to 1 of the amps and then where you connect it to the amp run a jumper from there to the other amp if they are both close or you can run two off the headunit...
