HVAC and or blower motor

So jumped in my truck this morning to take it for a spin since it's been in the garage from when I drove it last to the dealer and I had the heat on floor but seem'd to be really hot in my face area.. so I felt down by the pedals and there was not really any air blowing so I cranked it on high and same thing very little air.. it's all coming from the defrost vents on the dash....

So i'm guessing that little flap that directs the air has shit and bit it...

Any other things you guys can think of?

OklaHemi 01-18-2012 11:02 PM

Yes I think that is the blend door....

(S.M.R) 101 01-18-2012 11:09 PM

Figured...... Any ideas what type of cash flow it cost to get that bitch replaced.

myoung84 01-19-2012 12:11 AM

Yep, sounds like the blend door. Not sure on how much to fix...

Ohh I'm not even going to F with it... I'm going to have it fixed.

When I had my truck, I got quoted at several hundred I believe. They said they had to take the entire dash out.

Nice.........

looking forward to that

My blend door on my 04 broke the day after I bought it. The dealer took care of it so I don't know what it cost. They did have the truck for like 2 or 3 days though...

Well I just talked with one of the tech's at the dealer and he says he does not think it's the blend door since every other setting is working.. the defrost works front vents everything but the floor..

So i'm taking it in next week to have them look at it.

that sucks, that happened to my truck too. must just be a crappy design or something.hope all goes well for you.

i was going to say this but you already have the answer ... since i've replaced 2 i know the issues haha when your blend door goes bad you have barely any air coming out of any of the vents and since you have some that blow hard that's def not it ... but funny that this comes up as my truck just started doing this as well

Mine goes to defrost under heavy acceleration but comes back to the vents when I let off. Think it has something to do with vacuum...

(S.M.R) 101 01-19-2012 10:59 PM

F all that mess dude lol..

There is no way in hell I'm taking that dash off Haha.. ill pay high dollar to have someone else do it. To much of a pain in the ass

OklaHemi 01-19-2012 11:55 PM

when my recirc door broke i had no air but the motor was blowing. the little bastard broke off and fell covering the air to the blower. took me 15 minutes to remove it. they have a new upgraded recirc door assemble at the dealership for 55.00 but it is a big pain in the ass( as you can see^^^^) to replace.

BUMPPPPP

haha so i finally had this fixed on my truck ... sure enough there is another door that is triggered by a rod for the floor vents and it was broken and made out of the same bs foam/fiber shit that the blend door is made of .. i'll take a pic tomorrow

My 2000 Dodge Ram is having AC issues. It's blowing cold out of the vents but the dash vents feel like they are blocked off. It seems that the air is being redirected towards the feet because it will blow twice as hard out of the bottom vents. I noticed that I have a black line that is not connected under the dash but I haven't found a spot to plug it in. Any ideas as to what my problem might be? Thanks!

What did the Dealer tell you that the problem was?
