Infinity audio system question...

I own a 2008 Laramie and it has an infinity audio system and the passenger door speaker is blown (and if it's not it sure rattles a lot)...anyway does anybody know the exact speaker I would need to get or what I should do?

I see an aftermarket system in your future!

Hi, welcome to the ORC if I had told you already. The stock front door speaker is a 6x9 and the rear door is a 5 1/4. If want to remain stock Infinity you should try a dealership or online parts house, eBay or Amazon may also carry them new. The Mopar Infinity are an upgrade over the paper cone junk but not that great, I wouldn't suggest picking up a used one unless it was cheap and temporary. There is a Kicker brand speaker upgrade that is made for the Rams, that may be an option for you, but I say replace it all.

you can also stick a 6.5 in the rear instead of the 5 1/4

True statement.
(Speaker adapter kit may be necessary and is not included with you new speakers)

Mike hit the nail on the head for a stock replacement and Matt gave a better option if you want to go aftermarket...which you might as well since you'll be back there anyway.

the only bad thing about replacing a factory speaker on a factory infinity sound system in the 06-08 is that your factory amp really limits the new speakers abilities bc it still chokes them down with the crossovers that are built into the factory amp ... that's why mine is bypassed lol

^Can I get an Amen..... I believe an entry level name brand head unit
with entry level speakers will sound 10x better than that Infinity joke set up. I just bypassed all of mine as well

Appreciate the responses fellas, don't have the money just yet for a whole new system(even though I would love too 😁)....I have been searching other forums and some said that their might be a clear plastic cover over the speakers? (http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2002/08-006-02.htm )that could be causing it to pop and rattle...but if I turn the volume up the pop or rattle doesn't get worse, the sound just drowns it out so that's why I'm thinking (hoping lol) it might not be blown...so I suppose I'll attempt to take off the door panel and see if their is any clear plastic over the speaker since that fix was for a 2002 model...but if not What's the easiest/best option?

Thanks in advance!

There's a possibility the weather guard is touching them if not im sure I have my 6x9 factory infinities laying around I'll look for you the door is cake to come off tho
10 mm holding the door handle on 4 screws (top pillar, behind handle and 2 at bottom) then just lift up and unplug connections
