From what I can tell, it will work in bridged/mono....but I also don't want you to risk blowing the amp. Personally, I'd run it in stereo until you can find a solid mono amp that will push that sub. Hell, it may be good enough for you in stereo, but you young guys like bumping that stuff. lol

Awesome thanks Jeff, I'll do some research on it for sure

so is the sub a dual voice coil 4 ohm speaker?

Lie2me 10-08-2011 02:16 AM

Yes, DVC 4ohm + 4 ohm.

According to the manual, this amp is only stable in 4 ohm bridged, so you would have to run a dvc (8 ohm +8ohm). I would not risk ruining the amp, save up for a mono amp.

no you can run the amp you just have to run it at stereo 2 ohm or bridged 8 ohm... both give it the same amount of power which is roughly half of the 380 watts the amp is

so seeing how the sub is only going to get 190 watts just make sure you don't try to turn it up and up bc you want it louder bc that will make the amp try to work harder than it can and do what's called "clipping" which means the amp is putting out a square wave bc it's stressed to the max and sending the sub distortion which can blow one or both .... the gain needs to be set to your deck but since you don't have an o-scope and don't know how to set it with a meter ... general terms... turn amp all the way down turn your headunit as high as you listen to it and then turn the amp gain up until it starts to distort and then turn it back down a tad .. general rule of thumb on a decent radio you do not need to go past half and minimal bass boost

Sweet thanks that shouldn't be a problem. I don't want it stupid loud, just something that will make it sound good

Lie2me 10-08-2011 11:37 AM

Did you get it hooked up yet?

ramthis9501 10-08-2011 11:43 AM

No I still need to get a box. Is there somewhere I can get one made for a decent price? I called one place here in Norman and they quoted $200. Thought that was a little much...
