system help..

alright this is in my tahoe but I thought id see what yall thought i built a wall with two 18" MA subs there dual 4 and ive got a pyramid 3000 watt amp pushing them.

the amp keeps kicking off and going into protect mode if turned up very loud. my first though was maybe it under powered so i thru a second battery under the hood and still the same thing i dont think the second batt helped at all...

anyone else have any thoughts? id like to solve this system issue so i can move on th my dodge system set up

First thing I would do is check all the fuses associated w/ the amp. My inline fuse melted and wasn't getting a good connection and used to do that.

the fuse thats in the amp its self or fuse thats on the 0 gauge between amp and battery?

DoubleTakeDodge 02-06-2012 04:21 PM

Both. Mine was on my power wire between the battery and amp. But occasionally when a fuse blows it can melt the leads inside the fuse and once in a blue moon those melted leads fuse back together but don't carry enough current.

alright be cause on my 0 gauge ive got a kicker fuse block holds a 300amp fues then im not sure about whats in the amp its self..

im wondering now if maybe i could have possibly wired the amp down to a lower ohm then it can handle... its 2ohm stable amp.. ill post a diagram how ive wired it maybe that could be my problem idk how all the ohm and taking ohms down work...

DoubleTakeDodge 02-06-2012 04:30 PM

Yeah, me either. I'm really good with installation and stuff like that but I refer to others on all the technical stuff.

Heres how its wired except its bridged at the amp..

Each sub running at 4ohms on a 2 ohm amp? Wish I knew how to help but that's a little over my head, sorry man

Thanks anyways bud. I figured matt on here would know hes got knowledge on this i believe im thinking that with my amp bridge and subs haveing wires ran this way im probably trying to get a lower than 2ohm and its not made for that so im thinking i need to do this in stead...
