It's time...

Think it's time to start thinking about some new exhaust...

Pretty bad when the pipe literally rusts off lol

Already know exactly what I want, just have to wait til next week when I can get some money saved up.

In the mean time, this is in it's place

Used a flex pipe as a turn down

I would like to tell what I'm getting but... That would ruin the surprise ;)

At3030

ramthis9501 09-27-2012 11:27 PM

Nope...

fastnnuffrt 09-28-2012 02:33 AM

Super 44s

918Dodge 09-28-2012 03:41 AM

I've got Flowmaster 10 Series on mine. Nice aggressive sound!

fastnnuffrt 09-28-2012 04:25 AM

I like the sound of flows but performance blows

Randall488 09-28-2012 05:15 AM

Cherrybomb extremes are mean. Got em on my 10 and it took the river sound out of it.

ramthis9501 10-02-2012 09:14 PM

Ok since I suck at keeping things from people, I'll go ahead and say...

I'm gonna be getting the Aero Turbine 2525, same as the AT3030, but it is for 2.5" exhaust not 3" like the AT3030 is for. Going to be ordering it within the week and hopefully have it done by next week sometime.

More then likely going to go with Performance Muffler and have them weld it all on and run some new pipe.

One question I have though... I know it's kinda controversial and everyone has their own opinion, but I am really thinking about cutting off the catalytic converter. 2 reasons for this: One, it will be better flowing exhaust and help it breath better and two, it will be alot louder then if I keep it on. It literally sounds the exact same with it coming straight out of the cat then what it does now.

So will I really see much of a negative impact on performance or will it be about the same?

(S.M.R) 101 10-02-2012 09:26 PM

Just get a high flow cat dude..

ramthis9501 10-02-2012 09:28 PM

Eh.. I'd really like straight through, nothing in the way between the motor and muffler

fastnnuffrt 10-03-2012 06:14 AM

As long as u keep a muffler no cats is fine. My Tahoes straights with no cats and headers who cares. Old school dudes got different opinions. Just food for thought if no cats was so bad then why do n/a lsx block trucks run no cats?! I mean they only have 20k ties up in motor lol

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-03-2012 06:47 AM

I've told you about what happened to my '04 when I dropped the cats, but its up to you.

ramthis9501 10-03-2012 09:21 AM

I know Dave, I'm just doing some extra thinking on it. Probably just gonna leave it on and see how I like it. If I want it louder, then I'll think about cutting it off.

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-03-2012 12:49 PM

If you want it louder, why not just install an electric cutout before, or even right after, the cat?

Okiespaniels 10-03-2012 01:52 PM

I'd say when your timing slips show somewhere around 250 rwhp you can worry about your exhaust. At 188 hp it's not an issue unless it's plugged.

Haveing it tested when you get your muffler installed might be a good idea.

Hm... Might be a good idea. Found one on Summit Racing
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-670136/?rtype=10

I know it's manual, but I wouldn't mind doing it myself. Pretty good price I think.

One thing though, if I put in before or even after the cat, that's going to be underneath the cab... Wouldn't I have to worry about exhaust fumes getting in there?

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-03-2012 02:25 PM

I wouldn't mess with a manual cutout...I know it is cheap, but its meant for someone who only intends on using it at the strip. Save your pennies and get a Raceland cutout. Also, the only time your exhaust fumes will be a problem is if you plan on idling for a long time on a calm day.

0212353 10-03-2012 03:11 PM

nothing is cooler that hitting the remote on the cutout, I don't care who you are........its like your first nut. :D

ramthis9501 10-03-2012 05:27 PM

Alright it's gonna have to be awhile though before I'll be able to get an e-cutout. I'll just get the muffler put on and do the cutout later

Randall488 10-07-2012 12:54 AM

I ran my 89 dodge straight piped, cut off under the cab and never had an issue with fumes in cab. I say keep the cats on magnum engines, the exhaust flows on the newer stuff is alot better than it used to be.

DoubleTakeDodge 10-08-2012 02:56 PM

Magnaflow makes some good high flow cats that are less restrictive, I would leave cats on it, maybe just look into them

ramthis9501 10-17-2012 05:31 PM

Finally got it ordered today... Had a few things had to do first but now it's on its way! By next week, it'll be done!

DoubleTakeDodge 10-17-2012 07:56 PM

Very nice!!!

ramthis9501 10-24-2012 07:10 PM

Look what came out of the UPS truck today :)

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/a...-02-26_579.jpg

Not going to be able to get it installed though until next paycheck... maybe the one after that, but it will get done soon!

It claims to give about 2 more mpg's, think that's real?

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-24-2012 07:23 PM

Eh...I doubt it.

(S.M.R) 101 10-24-2012 07:24 PM

Doubt it as well.. lol

But they sound good :D

ramthis9501 11-03-2012 05:17 PM

Well it took alot longer then I was expecting, but it is finally installed :D It looks great underneath there and sounds so much better! I punched it on the way home earlier and I swear it sounded like a turbo spooling :D So much badassness!

http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/a...-14-18_825.jpg

ramthis9501 11-03-2012 06:17 PM

And an exhaust clip!

DoubleTakeDodge 11-04-2012 04:47 PM

Nice man
