Grille

Right now, I have billet grille inserts that just bolt over the stock honey comb. Well I'm thinking of changing it up and Mike gave me the idea of taking off the billet and painting the honey comb black.

This is what it looks like now

And here's Mike's, this is what it'd look like

What do you all think?

I like those grills on your 2nd gen I say paint the honey combs and pc the billet grill

I say remove the honeycombs and get the back mounted grills. But if not paint the honeycombs black to hide 'em and leave the billet pieces off!

Not on mine, it's more of a light greyish color

i pulled the billet out of mine and traded with a guy for the honeycomb, it just fits better. i think if you are rocking chrome accents then a bliiet would look more at home. i want a newer style grille for my truck

The thing is that the honey comb is rivoted into the grille shell so trading it off wouldn't be an option. Guess I'd have to tape it all off to paint it. Should I use plastidip or get some regular flat black paint for this?

OklaHemi 10-02-2011 02:17 AM

Either

So I went ahead and got the honey comb painted

Before:

I'm gonna go pull off the tape in a little bit and get better pics in the morning. Thanks for the awesome idea Mike!
