Replacing wheel stud

Has anyone replaced a wheel stud on a 4th gen (or other gens if they are comparable?) While doing a tire rotation today I found that someone has tried to steal my wheels at some point judging by distinct damage to my lug nuts. In the process of taking the last wheel off, I broke a wheel stud off in a lug nut. I was the last person to have the wheels off of the truck and therefore was the last person to reinstall them. I never use an impact and wouldn't have forced a cross-thread. The only thing I can come up with is rust-welding (highly unlikely) or maybe damage from someone trying to hammer a socket onto the nut.

Either way, I now need the procedure and part number (if possible) for changing the front wheel stud. Thanks for any help.

Damn thiefs. Haven't replaced one on the 4th gens but it shouldn't be too bad if you can get the hub off.

That does give a little insight. I appreciate it.

it's all pretty easy. I snapped ever single of of mine off when I got ready to install the lift on my truck. on further inspection the wrong lug nuts were on there. and yes there are lug nuts that are close to the pitch and will start to thread but are slightly off and have to be forced on with impact. ohh did I mention discount tire had just swapped a set of tires on it right before. I had my hubs off but that was due to installing the lift. u should be able to install them without pulling it tho. most vehicles u can so idk y not on ours.

Do you still have any contacts in auto repair that could pull Dodge's step-by-step on this?

sryi took so long to answer. I have been super busy at work. ya let me check after work tomorrow. I believe my old shop still has access to all-data, I can pull up the instructions on there.

alright dude, i looked it up on all-data and it says what i thought it would. it said you can do it without taking the wheel bearing hub assembly off. take your wheel and tire off. take your caliper and rotor off. disconnect the abs sensor. then on the back side there should be an opening slot align that with the wheel stud and grab a bfh and pound away at the front of the stud to pop it through. once that is done slid the new one in and according to all-data it said to grab some washers to put over the new stud and grab your lug nut and use the washers as spacers and tight the lug nut and suck the new stud into the hub. may need to add washer as your lug nut will bottom out on the stud if you dont have enough washers. assuming your lug nut has a closed cap on top. this is exactly what i did when i did mine. if you need any help dude just call me and i would be more than happy to come help you. or talk on the phone about it. i have replaced all 20 on my truck haha so ive done it a few times. not counting the ones i did when working at the dealer too

Thank you so much Matt! It sounds simple enough.
