Hell Bent Steel leveling kit
This says for 4x4 but would I be ok to use this on my 2wd crew cab?

OK so found out it wont work. Whats the best way to level out a 2wd? I have read if i just do spacers i will need shocks as well. I'm looking to go 2.5" on the front. Don't really want to pay $300 to have it done at a shop.

You don't necessarily HAVE to have new shocks if you do spacers, but it is recommended. About the only alternative that is budget friendly is to lower the rear with drop shackles to level the ride.

Check out Fatbobsgarage.com. I've used their poly 2" spacers to level my last two 2wd trucks. New shocks won't hurt but be sure to get stock length, not longer. The shock will keep the upper A arm from smacking the coil bucket.

And I never replaced my shocks on either truck...

Will 2" level it out? Also you recommended getting stock length shocks but I have read on other Dodge forums to get + 2" lift shocks. I keep reading different things. My plan is to do this leveling right after fathers day. I'm driving home to PA with the family and thought this would be a good father son job. Just want to make sure its done correct for the 21 hr drive back to OKC after.

There's no benefit to longer shocks. The stock shocks limits the down travel of the suspension and the A arm almost touches the coil bucket as it is. Longer shocks will allow the A arm to smack the coil bucket if the suspension is in full droop. Unless you're offroading, the only time you will see this is when the truck gets jacked up or put on a lift, but there's still no need for longer shocks.
2" won't quite level it, it will be about 1/2 to 3/4" lower in front but will look level to the naked eye. Be careful with the 2.5" spacer, I have heard some complaints of a much harsher ride compared to 2". |
Thanks for all the info.

Dont pay a shop. You live too close for that and I love working on these trucks.
|
I would never pay a shop. I just don't want to spend money leveling out one way then wish I would have gone the other route. So whatever is the best way to get level I'm down. And I will definitely let you all know when I'm ready. An experienced hand is always nice to have around.
