Trade my chrome bumpers for your painted bumpers - '09-'12

I am trying to get rid of the chrome bumpers off my truck so I thought I would make someone an incredible deal instead of having them sandblasted. If you have a 2009-2012 Dodge Ram with painted bumpers, I will do an even trade with you. I prefer Blue bumpers over all others, but will consider other color as long as it is in good condition. We can do the bumper swap at my place or yours and it should only take an hour at most.

Requirements: Your front bumper must be the foglight version, like mine pictured below.

Not Required: On the rear bumper, I prefer one with exhaust cut-outs and sensors, but it's not mandatory. If we make a deal and your bumper doesn't have exhaust cutouts, I will include the exhaust tips, but you will need an exhaust shop to install them for you.

Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested and please include a picture of your bumpers if you have any.

Here is a picture of the bumpers you will be getting:

Good luck man...painted bumpers are where it's at.

jasonLmarsh 09-21-2011 02:16 PM

yea man, I saw sweet Ram in Mustang today that I thought was a Sport until I realized it had no foglights. I got closer and found that they had just painted the bumpers and it looked fantastic.

Why don't you just have your bumpers painted or powdercoated?

Good timing... I'm dropping off the bumpers on Friday to be sandblasted, and they will be painted over the weekend. I was surprised how cheap the sandblasting was so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the project.

Oklahoma is so much cooler than up here.. They will actually do stuff for you as far as paint work..

Not up here

Yea I think everyone in NY has a bad attitude. As much as I rag on Okie's, it's one of the best places on earth for friendly, down to earth people.

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-19-2011 05:18 PM

Do you mind if I ask what they are charging for the whole deal?

what do you mean exactly ? are you saying you can't get something painted in ny

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-19-2011 05:56 PM

He said in another thread that he spoke to a couple different shops and both told him that it was impossible to paint the chrome bumpers.

(S.M.R) 101 10-19-2011 06:24 PM

What D said No one will do it... 4 shops all shot me down

Matt 10-19-2011 06:25 PM

and they can't be lol since he has to have them sandblasted .. the few painters i know don't have any sandblasting equipment but i guess they shouldve told him if he could get it blasted then they could paint them just gotta be careful chrome is a hard thing to blast off from what i hear ... very easy to pit the metal and bondo is not something you would want on your bumper

(S.M.R) 101 10-19-2011 06:28 PM

and as far as buying parts and then taking them to be painted... I was shot down by 3 shops when I was looking to get my grille painted because they told me that by me buying the parts and them painting them they lose money.. They told me that they make a cut by ordering parts for people and them painting them.. So they are losing money by me supplying the parts.. pretty lame huh?

BMRbrnSNRbrd 10-19-2011 06:30 PM

Wow, those are some shit hole companies for sure!

(S.M.R) 101 10-19-2011 06:38 PM

No doubt man... but when I get the Road Armor no need to worry :D

Yea I ran into that around here a bit when trying to get my Tbird hood painted. No one wants to do little stuff, they want to do the whole car because there's more money in it. You just have to ask around enough until you find someone.

Well it's the friend deal. The Sandblasting is $70/hr at a sandblasting company I found in the yellow pages, The paint is about $100/qt. and my friend already has the primer, clearcoat and all the other stuff. So depending upon what he will let me pay him, I will be out $200-$400 range.

Not bad dude.. can't wait to see the finished result!

I would love to swap with you except our front bumpers are not interchangeable. I'm pretty sure the rear bumpers with.
