So I'm thinking about just building myself along with the help of our neighbor who actually does wood work as a side job. Found this 3/4" thick piece of plywood in the shop think it'll work?

That would work, but I would recommend buying a sheet of 3/4" mdf. It's the best thing to use for building boxes.

Well the deal fell through with the neighbor. He wont be able to do it til next week and I want it done before the weekend is up. So I think me and my dad are going to do it instead here pretty soon. I'll post pics when its all done. I've been working on it for a good part of the day :)

dont' use plywood use mdf ... it'll cost you 25 bucks for a huge sheet but it's worth it man... do you know how to calculate area?

and 8 ohm bridged vs 2 ohm stereo is the same power so it won't matter either way colton

ramthis9501 10-08-2011 06:22 PM

I wired it the way Mike posted and it's working great! MDF might be better but honestly I don't mind either way. I just think it's better to use the plywood since we already got it, plus it's free lol

And I got a pretty good idea on calculating area... just LengthxWidthxDepth for a box right?

myoung84 10-08-2011 09:08 PM

Length x width x height in inches / 1728 = cubic feet.

ramthis9501 10-08-2011 09:19 PM

I knew that lol so the box is done! Dimensions are 18" x 16" x 7" = 1.17 cubic feet.

Here's some pics :D

The box

The amp

Coated the box with a rubber coating type paint, so it's got to sit awhile... probably overnight. So I'm getting it all hooked up first thing tomorrow!
