Road armor bumper
Is there anyway you could photoshop a road armor front bumper on my truck dave? I'm thinkin of having one of the guys i work with build me one. He's damn good at fabricating and i know he could do it for less than 600 bucks. just wanna see what it'd look like. Thanks!

Road armor would look kick ass
I'm hopin it will. I just wanna see what it'd look like before I spend the money to have him do it. Metal ain't no biggy. I can get a steel for wholesale and theyre 10'x6'. And it's only $50 for a sheet and I figure it'd take 2-3 sheets
There are a number of different Road Armor type bumpers around, but depending on what you're interested in spending I know a few different ones available. Road Armor sells a few of the 2nd gen bumpers cheap from time to time to reduce stock. I can ask him. Or I know a good copy-cat design that sells both front and rear for around $1500 + shipping.
Is boondocks the copy cat you're talking about? And I can have both front and back made for cheaper than that. I'm gonna try and talk to the guy tomorrow to see if he can do it. But if I get really ambitious I can do it myself if I can find a good enough welder. That's the only problem I have. Lol. I'm not a great welder and that's something that will have to be perfect

Man it ain't no rush haha and that looks awesome man! You're makin all the stuff on my truck look real!
I think you need one! and even if that guy you know won't do it, i bet jeff would for a little money, which would still be alot cheaper than retail!
I agree with you guys...you need all the stuff I've chopped man, AND a stack.
A buddy of ours uncle makes his own custom welding rig beds and could EASILY knock this out!
Bad ass job Dave.
You better buy that bumper dude it looks bad ass on there. |
actually, I was talking about Road Rhino. They did some bumpers for Road Armor and then started selling their own version on the side after, shady, but cheap. I think they are $1500 for the pair or $900 unwelded with all the parts already cut out.
I've considered doing the unwelded kit so I could make some modifications for better approach angle and narrower track. I have a good distributor at Dodge Offroad if you're interested. http://www.dodgeoffroad.com/store_roadrhino.php His name is Danny and he is a good guy. And like I said before, I know the owner of Road Armor, Mark, and can call and ask about a group buy if enough people are interested. The 2nd gen Dodge units don't sell as much as they used to and sometimes he has extra stock that he wants to liquidate. But I don't want to call and get the ball rolling unless I have at least 6 people interested. He has a secondary manufacturing plant just north of Dallas that would likely build them or have some in stock to sell. You can even save a little more by getting them uncoated. If you would like to make a pattern of mine, just bring some beer and a measuring tape!!! :drink_nl: |
Yes do everything on that chop! Bumper looks sick!
I'm sure he would if he had the time. And sounds like I'm buyin some beer and bringin the tape measure then!
It makes the truck look smaller for some reason to me.
that bumper looks a little big it might be one made for a 3" body lift and they are stretched 3" farther down ... mine doesn't look that tall
They make them for trucks specific with 3" BL kits? That would work great because he has a 3" BL lol
Talked to the guy today and he needs to see it in person just to make absolutely sure he can do it but if I do it I'm makin 2 so if anyone with a second gen wants one or is interested let me know. Probably cost ya somewhere around 500.
^^Same bumper built by the same guy. just different trucks
That is perfect dude.
the body lift version is custom, but it is essentially a __" vertical addition to all of the planes. He only makes them custom and I'm not even sure he does it anymore. Hit me up if you want to come measure or pay for gas and I'll drive over for your guy to look. If you can get me another full bumper to borrow I may even let you borrow mine for mockup....we'll work something out. hit me up on a PM
you can cruise through my photobucket site and look at my bumpers. In the later photos with the gap under the grille I have a 2" body lift with the bumper adjusted all the way up. It will hit the forward body mounts on the rad support if you don't trim them back a hair.

I wonder if there's dimensions of the mounting brackets somewhere. Thatll be the hardest part.
Don't go off of my chop for visual dimensions as it was tweaked to fit the picture and does not represent actual dimensions.
Oh I won't. Lol. I'm probably still gonna try to meet up with swervin or a buddy that has one to get exact and just double-check.
