small update...
I've decided to go ahead and upgrade my headlights http://retroshop.us/4th%20Gen%20Quad...s/298352ec.jpg I still have to get the front fender trim cut/matched/painted to finish up the front of the fender well. Front bumper will be repainted by Ram at the same time. Will install LaminiX over the front fogs afterwards. I am going to go ahead and plastidip or paint the rims...still undecided. I recently pulled the RBZ in favor of a Kenwood Excelon and sub/speakers/amps upgrade. I really likeed the RBZ and tried to keep it, but I dicked the factory wiring harness up and just got frustrated. Now I have the altenator whine, so I have to recheck everything....more time lost screwing with this radio. I should have just paid the installers now that I look back on it. I am also upgrading the wiring on the amps to 4 gauge from 8....I tried once again to go cheap... Lot of damn work for a truck going into storage. Anyway, I'm headed overseas, just got a few more steps in the hiring process, should be about a month before I actually fly. Family will be moving permanently to Vegas while I'm overseas. Why overseas? Well, simple...money. The government contract I am working comes to a close on the 22nd of September. The company that won the contract...lowest bidder. Took a HUGE cut in pay...and ZERO benifits. Don't hurt me none, I'm retired, but some of the guys I work with are bailing out...to include me. I'm kinda putting this out there for a couple reasons...we (Fort Sill) are losing 3200 jobs within the next few weeks...65,000(civilians) across the military in general(+63,000 soldiers Army-wide), with more to come. That is really going to hurt a lot of folks locally. Trying to stay non-political. Regards Jeff |
Nice lights man! Looking good! Hope you get to stay active here. We'll be thinking of you when you go overseas.
Sucks you have to go overseas! How long will you be over there?
Lights look awesome Jeff. Good luck man.
Lights are paid for, I just need to wait on my accord to get out of the body shop. I actually dropped it off yesterday, so the wait begins.
I've decided to go ahead and keep the truck. My company (once hired) will pay the difference if I sell it back to the dealership. Now that my wife has a clown car(miata)...I think I will hang onto it in case she needs it for anything while I'm gone. Besides, it give me a reason to buy some firestone bags for the move to vegas. lol BTW, when I get back from overseas, I will be opening a 'Bed & Breakfast' for any of you fellas that wanna visit. Well, not really a 'breakfast', but you will have a free place to crash as long as you don't puke on the carpet. Granted, this is almost 3 years away, but the offer will still stand.:rockit: Small admin note: Almost done with the hiring process, will probably have the family moved and on my way overseas before Turkey Day. That and the new contract here on Fort Sill...cut us another $3.50 an hour...and still no bennies. Can you say "Mass Exodus." Ouch... |
what a bunch of shit. at least you are in good enough spirits to know that its not the end of the world and you can move on. where is your B&B going to be? the lights look right at home on there. good luck overseas, give em hell.
Thank you, I can't wait to get my lights to Jeremy.
As for the B&B, it was more of a joke than anything. It will be like a "Crash here and bring donuts" more than a B&B. As for the job, yeah, there are always better places to work. I don't care for the contracting world, but it is a way to get ahead of the game. I met a LOT of important people last night at dinner, so I'm still developing my network. Now more than ever, its who you know. I've got the "what you know" covered in spades. Two year plan and alternate 10 year plan. Either way, I am retired at 50(thats my goal, and just turned 40 in June). Thanks for the words, I appreciate it. Jeff |
Good luck Jeff.
Thank you. I haven't been overseas since 2009, I'm really not looking forward to doing this for a two year stint, but its the only option I have that will accomplish my 'end game'. I guess the only cool part is the money, hope there is a sic ass Ram to trade up too in 2014/5....R/T with a FAT motor would be real nice(and a transmission that will take the punishment.) Hell, they will probablly be pushing out Hybrid R/T's by then...LMAO
Or 392 Rams :D

That's awesome man! Did you plastidip the wheels?
Damn the truck is looking mean man! I need some of those flares.
Yes, I dipped them. As for the flares, you might want to skip the factory and go aftermarket. The flares should go all the way to the front of the front tire, but Ram wants you to buy their kit.

Damn dude... I was wondering who JJ was doing them for... they look sick as hell man
Those are pretty badass man
They arrived via Fedex yesterday. My sub box and sub arrived too. I've been working overtime for the past two weeks... and half of next week. $$$$ I will get everything installed on Saturday and take some picks. The only thing left is to have the stock muffler installed. I will knock that out next week too.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1...D550/ry%3D400/ Finally got a chance to install the last of the goodies. Loaded my 2nd polk sub into the new box & installed the new lights that Jeremy did...they are top notch. I can't say enough good things about Jeremy's work and customer service. Got a few small tweaks left before I go overseas...still waiting on 'that' phone call... |
those lights are absolutely sick
So badass.
Shit's raw dude
Thanks everyone. More pics when I get everything buttoned up and detailed.
Got everything hooked up and finally installed the Lamin-X on the foglights now that I don't need to use them to help me see at night. Jeremy and Todd have EXCELLENT customer service I would recommend these guys to everyone. The first person I talked to today gave me mad props(Gate guard at Fort Sill). They are a real hit, Thanks again Jeremy.
