New Wheels. New Tires. New Pics.

Latest mod is new wheels and tires. Went with 17x8.5, 0mm offset, Method Double Standards with 35x12.50 Cooper Discoverer STT tires. Also bought a 5th for the factory steel spare, which barely fits under the truck, but it fits. So far I'm really impressed with the tires. I had originally ordered Toyo AT II's in the same size but they were back-ordered at least 8 weeks so I made the decision to go with the Coopers instead, and I'm glad I did. They ride really good on road with 45/40 psi front and rear and are pretty quiet. I didn't see any mud yesterday since it's been so dry but they should do great in. High speed rough trail driving was surprisingly smooth with the new tires and suspension. There's also no rubbing anywhere while turning and while at full stuff.

My only complaint is I think the center cap sticks out a bit too far. I may try to modify them a little, but I first need to find out how expensive they are before I ruin one. Just eyeballing the clearances, I should be able to push them in about an inch and a half, maybe more. I may also end up swapping out the bolts from brass to stainless. Last complaint is with Diablo. They still are unable to adjust the TPMS threshold so I get a constant reminder that my tires are low. I hope they can fix this soon.

Truck looks simply amazing Morgan. I like the wheels and tires. I agree about the center caps but I don't think it is imperative to sink them in, if they are too expensive to mess with.

Sweet rig man, it looks great

myoung84 09-09-2013 06:38 PM

Thanks David! I'm getting used to the center caps so I may or may not try and shorten them. We'll see...

I think I'm going to get some Bushwacker flares and be done with it for awhile. There's really not much else I can do that's not super expensive.

BMRbrnSNRbrd 09-09-2013 06:44 PM

Bushwacker flares would be just about perfect.

just badass man. pure awesome.

A little birdy told me that there's a great possibility of another RetroShop raffle (this time the proceeds will be fully go to the American Cancer Society).......christmas present of lights maybe?? :D

myoung84 09-09-2013 10:01 PM

I'll definitely enter into that raffle! Support a great cause and get some bad ass lights? What's not to love about that?

Yeah, told myself I'd probably do this each year.....and somehow didn't do it last year.

Been 2 years since we found out about Dad......and he just had his port taken out (what they put into cancer patients to get the meds in easier) - to me......that was the final step. I think this time around it should be quite easy to bring in a great chunk of change. 2 more years of customers to bounce it off of - and the social media kick....yeah, I'm shooting for 10,000. I know its probably a pipe dream, but I can dream eh?

sorry about the 'jack!
