Oh for the love of Pete...they'll try anything.

Then again...there are plenty out there stupid enough to go for a deal simply out of being excited about the prospect of getting a new vehicle...take my sister in law for example. She's been wanting a full size SUV for a while and decided to start looking (with her husband, who I like, but isn't very savvy when it comes to haggling). Here's the deal she signed papers on yesterday:

Trade in: 2004 Jeep Liberty 3.7L with 100k+ miles.
Purchased: 2008 Chevy Tahoe LT 4.8L V8 with 67k miles

They told her that her Jeep was worth $6k on trade but they would give her $9k (first red flag) so that she could clear her note and not have to roll anything onto the new truck. So what did they get her to pay for a decently optioned, high mileage, small V8 Tahoe?

$25,500!!!!

hahaha... I just got a letter from my dealer with an actual key tapped on the letter to a car and if I bring it in it will open a car/truck on the lot that I could get an "Amazing" deal on

they can get bent

Fowler Dodge sucks and I doubt I will ever do business with them again. They didn't do me any favors at all when I traded in my 04, I got hit with about 6 grand negative equity! But that's my fault for buying a few months before the truck market took a dump and then trying to trade it in only 18 months after buying it. They still wouldn't hardly deal on my new truck, I stood up to walk out a few times and they always went back to the "Manager" for a few extra dollars. I told them what I was willing pay and after getting fukked for a couple hours, the General Manager came up to me and gave me the deal I wanted.

I would have gone elsewhere but Fowler was the only dealer I could find that ordered trucks with 3.92s and LSD, which was an absolute requirement. And I didn't want to screw with dealer transfer crap either.

If I had it to do over, I would have waited another 6 months until they started building sports again. Don't remember exactly why, but when I was buying mine in late 09 there were no sports being made.

thats almost what i paid for my 07 LTZ with 30,000 2 years ago. those tahoes are really nice though. i want different wheels on mine, a big shinny 6 spoke like on my ram. but the 22 look small on it, i may need to upsize to 24 if it doesnt make the ride quality go to total shit i would never hear the end of it

ramthis9501 09-06-2011 11:42 PM

OklaHemi 09-06-2011 11:43 PM

They wouldn't listen to me on any of it dude...they aren't my biggest fans and think I'm too "blunt" about things...guess if they're happy that's all that matters.
