Drags Friday night Aug. 24
Test n' Tune is going Friday night at Thunder Valley... Anyone going? I'm hoping to get to run my truck this time!
I won't be able to make it this weekend....
Anyone?
I might go out to watch
Awesome!
Going to get there around 8
Hope the rain holds out! Me and Sabrina have a BBQ tonight I forgot about. Rick will be out there tonight and maybe some other GPMM guys.
So... My trucks slow :( But oh well, I had fun running it.
My very first run was the best (left lane) http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/a...-01-00_424.jpg Last run, I had the best RT time and trap speed of the night but it was still slower for some reason... http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/a...-01-04_964.jpg Just motivation for me to do more to the performance now! Also weighed this heavy thing... 4530 lbs with me in it! I figured 4000 at the most |
These trucks are heavy!
BTW your 60 ft time is killing you! On your last run your 60 ft time was slower and that's why your et was higher. |
My only guess is that I got wheel spin and didn't know feel it on that last run
What rear end is in your truck?
3:55's......
3.55 and open diff kills 60, mph is bout right. I wouldn't be disappointed not bad
Thanks... I'm definately gonna be getting me some 3.92's now!
4.10s and locker
4:10s and that powertrax that was for sale on RF.
Don't you all think 4:10's would be a little much for mine?
Its less than a 200 rpm difference at 65 mph between 3:92s and 4:10s.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-ti...atio-chart.htm Note you ahave to drop your rpms about 20% for od. Whats your rpms now at 65 mph? Or what size tires are you running? |
Just did the calculations on the difference
3.55 - 2000.8 RPM 3.92 - 2204 RPM 4.10 - 2316.8 RPM I took the 20% drop into account on these Now my question is, how much better would the 4.10's be then the 3.92's? |
RPM right now is at about 1900 and I'm running 31" tires
Well there's not going to be a lot, but 4:10's unless you have a hookup, will be easier to find than 3:92s.
You will notice the difference in et between either set and your 3:55's especially with a locking diff. The problem then will be traction, but with only 188 rw hp ( I figured that here) http://www.ajdesigner.com/phphorsepo...horsepower.php traction shouldn't be an issue until you start making more torque. Btw I took your weight and hp and calculated your et here... http://robrobinette.com/et.htm |
Thanks Al. I'll be looking for either set... Mine right now has the "one tire fire" lol so is that a locking diff or open diff?
It's open... :)
That's open. Id go with a Detroit locker so your for future plans if any. I'll be going 4.56 if I stay natural aspirated it 3.42s if forced induction
Alright thanks guys! I'm working on a deal right now with a guy with a wrecked SST. The "super sport" Ram they made in 97 and 98... I'm hoping it has the 3.92's. I'm waiting for the guy to verify it for me, but I'll be checking them myself just to make sure if he says they are.
