Another paint project
I finally got my can of good clear, but it's only got a 48 hour pot life, so I want to get my Vararam lid painted now so I can clear everything at once..BUT I can't figure out what paint scheme to go with...
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-07175049.jpg Honestly, it will rarely be shown off...basically only at shows. I know a lot of people like to do crazy bright colors...like Hemi Orange...but I'm thinking I should just stick with the gray and black theme...thoughts? I also have a nice Hemi badge from a Charger that I want to use. I honestly think I might just go with all metallic gray and put the hemi badge, either with the black letters and chrome (stock) or just PD the whole thing for an all black lettering look. The other thing I thougt of doing was painting the outer edge (including the "valley" and out) gray and then the center area metallic black and then installing the Hemi badge. Input? |
I think stick with the gray and black theme because you have no other color accents. I think the badge done in Plastidip would look cool too
I would just paint match it and call it good...maybe get a hemi badge for it!

boom! missed it
Yup just color match and make the Hemi badge black
I just had another thought...I have the front badge from my grill that I painted a while back just hanging on my tool box...I could re-paint that so that everything perfectly matches. Think of the lid being black and then this repainted and recleared:

Along with the Hemi badge?
Instead of.
Yeah that would be better since it'll go with the truck more
Guess I'll start working on it tonight and at least try to get the lid and badge in primer.
Fuck yeah dude! Good idea
spiffy!
48 hour pot? That changed........used to be 24! |
is that badge curved?
Slightly, but its doable.
Nice, no pics? I know you're up now
lol

I need some help deciding guys...
All these are the same as my dash...metallic gray and metallic silver. Keep in mind there IS NOT a huge contrast between them as the gray is actually darker than my stock color... 1. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...stuff/lid1.jpg 2. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...stuff/lid2.jpg 3. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...stuff/lid3.jpg 4. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...stuff/lid4.jpg |
torn between 3/4
I'll be honest...those are the only two I would really consider. It was so easy to change on PS once the ground work was laid down that I figured I would add a couple more choices.
i prefer 3 but i think 4 would stand out more
Well, we are in complete agreement then. I like the clean look of 3 but I think, with all the black under the hood anyway, it won't "pop" like number 4 will.
i say 4 all the way
4 looks sick
Number 4 FTW!
Number four is being put in clear as I type.
Number 1............. just kidding #4 for sure
Well, unlike one of the pieces of my dash, the VR stuff came out great:
