BMRbrnSNRbrd's 2010 CC Sport build thread
Guys, I’ve seen this on other sites and decided to do it here. This is my truck from start on October 23, 2010 to now. Enjoy.
Dealership picture. Notice the wheels they had on it. Needless to say I made sure they understood that would be changed before the deal was done. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1_640w480h.jpg Here she is with my previous truck, a 2004 White QC Hemi. I still miss that truck desperately. I stripped it down quite a bit before I took it to the dealership and handed them the keys. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0-25181946.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0-25181958.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0-25182011.jpg Here she is after having the correct wheels swapped on and the windows tinted 5% up front and 5% over the factory tint on all the rear windows. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1075.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1076.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1080.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1082.jpg First mod early November 2010 was a Raceland USA e-cutout that had been on my previous truck. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-04205227.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-04205117.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-04205148.jpg Trip to Tulsa, OK with my wife also in early November 2010. At this point I had plug and play HIDs in all four front lights. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1094.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1093.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1096.jpg My Christmas present to myself and the truck is still one of my favorite mods I’ve ever done to a truck. Thanks Jeremy! http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1127.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1129.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...2-09191816.jpg I especially like this pic because of the way the projectors pick up the light and the angle…kind of looks like a caged pit bull. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...2-09191925.jpg |
I also Plasti-dipped my factory chrome clads and painted my brake calipers bright red:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-28124521.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-28164817.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-28164756.jpg My factory horizontal chrome grill inserts also got the Plasti-dip treatment: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-29100256.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1-29100309.jpg A quick pic of my kiddo with the truck during the February 2011 snow storm: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...2-04171307.jpg Another of my favorite truck pics while it’s getting the Fukken Wax treatment: ;) http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...ttinFukked.jpg At the end of February 2011 I received and installed my Billet Technology Oil Catch Can. Sure, there may be cheaper options, but I KNOW this works: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...lcatchcan1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...catchcan11.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-11181117.jpg In mid-March 2011 I took the truck out and took almost 100 pictures. Here are my favorites: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...hotoshoot1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...hotoshoot4.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...hotoshoot5.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...otoshoot23.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...otoshoot30.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...otoshoot59.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...otoshoot65.jpg One of the smaller and cheapest (free) mods I’ve done was swapping the flat black vinyl on my b-pillars to gloss…they now tie in much better with my dark tint: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-16153732.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...3-17102431.jpg In April I tackled one of the things that I think Dodge dropped the ball on…mainly the cheap black plastic they use for the antenna base and tailgate handle despite that everything else is color matched. Again, this was done in the garage by myself: The antenna base: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...4-29210445.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...4-29222221.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...4-29225420.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...5-01175238.jpg May 11, 2011 I finally tinted my tails and puddle lights using VHT Niteshades: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...5-11102404.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...5-11110740.jpg |

This also shows the Tonno Pro soft tri-fold tonneau cover I added before our Las Vegas trip: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...7-29130618.jpg And here are the latest pics: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...withchicks.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0Ram/ry400.jpg There may not be a lot of money in it and there are plenty of large mods I still want to do, but I think, considering how much I’ve spent, the truck looks great and unique. My favorite thing is how much I’ve done myself despite never having done anything like smoothing and painting before. |
Nice write up man! I need to do the same now
|
Way to go! Sweet truck.
|
You nailed it in your last statement Dave. " My favorite thing is how much I’ve done myself "
I loved my 2004 but I appreciate my 08 a lot more because everything that I have done I have done it myself. All my mods are small but make it unique and when people ask where I bought or where I took my truck to get something done, I smile and say I did that myself.. your truck is one of my top favorite trucks, So if it ends up missing one day don't come looking for me haha |
Thank you very much Kyle, that's a hell of a compliment.
If you do make it disappear, make sure no part of it is ever seen again so I can pick up a new Charger R/T. |
your truck looks great David. makes me want a 4th gen....
|
Tear I remember when you broth that thing home all stock, now it's all fixed up. They mod up so fast. I wish I had a photo journal but I get so excited to mod I don't think of a camera

You should ask Morgan to see his spreadsheet on the truck and his Charger...that man had a plan from the get-go.
|
Maybe he'll post it up here :D
|
Very nice David!
I may do something similar and post up my spreadsheet. It's getting big... |
Do it dude.
|
For sure! Do it
|
Truck looks awesome! Can't wait to have all my little stuff painted...then the big stoff like bumpers and the grille shell!!!

Damn I haven't updated this since over a year ago! I've done like two mods since then!
|
Well they're something! Especially your wheels!
|
grille, tailgate, wheels, interior, that i know of! I've been here less than a year!
|
I cut off your attenna to
|
It has been awhile since you updated it lol
|
Well, I haven't updated in a LONG time...got side tracked by just adding new threads instead of updating this one. So...here goes:
In September of 2011 I received a two piece locking billet fuel door from a member of Ram Forum. When I got it, he had been trying to paint it but was having a hell of a time. I decided to give it a shot and after a few failed attempts, finally got it to work: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...9-16152836.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...9-16155535.jpg In October '11, I found a guy on Craigslist with a set of true 22" NightRunner SRT10 wheels. He wanted a straight trade for my stock wheels and tires so I drove to Arkansas and picked them up. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0-07142543.jpg Here's why I got them so easily...two of the tires were toast. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0-13154105.jpg I ordered new tires for the rears and "discarded" the old ones... http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...burnoutpic.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...0-19183203.jpg The next thing up was getting rid of the huge grill badge Dodge decided to recess into the grill. I got this done in December 2011: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...%20Ram/872.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...%20Ram/124.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...2-16173345.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1899.jpg Here is how she was sitting in mid-December 2011: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1898.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/SANY1900.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/IMG_0559.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/IMG_0579.jpg So in January 2012 the wheel bug bit again. I made a deal with a friend who took my SRTs and bought these black five spokes and gave them to me. The grill was off to get fixed after it got chipped: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/IMG_1346.jpg |
In mid-January I ordered a Vararam:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/IMG_1442.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...m/IMG_1450.jpg I didn't do much for a couple of months but in June the paint bug hit me. I took the Vararam apart and decided to paint it to match the truck and use the truck's factory nose badge as an accent piece, which I painted as well: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-08001148.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-08013007.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_192448.jpg At this time I also attempted to paint my interior plastics...it was a disaster. I took it to a professional...another disaster. That story continues later. Also in June 2012 I bought some OEM Outdoorsman flares that were already the right color. This is one of my top five mods because, to me, it gave the truck's exterior a more finished look. I like the wider look it gives the truck and also helps pull my wide 305 tires in. Here is a shot with the fronts done and the backs still without the flares so you can see what I mean about the finished look: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-26140227.jpg And all installed: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-26154950.jpg Also in June, I had my rear tailgate badge shaved: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-28200658.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...6-28200648.jpg June 30th, 2012 was one of the highest points for my truck and one of the lowest. That morning I won my first trophy at a car show when I took third: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...48068689_n.jpg And then on the way home...trophy still in the truck, I stopped at Sonic to get my lovely wife something to drink...and didn't quite clear the Sonic sign: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1088877064.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...1088825496.jpg Luckily, I have a hell of a paint and body guy at my disposal. I dropped my truck off on July 4th at 3pm. I got it back fixed, repainted, cleared, and buffed at 2:30pm the NEXT DAY. It cost me $100. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...7-13075921.jpg |
After spending some money fixing my bike, I decided this week that it was time to get back to the truck. Last week I dropped my tailgate, fuel door, and interior plastics all off to my painter (the good one I use, not the guy I gave a shot a while back) so that he could fix the mistakes made by someone else. Today I got all of them back. There will be better pictures to follow of all pieces, but here is the interior parts since no one has seen them done:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...eriordone1.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_194941.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_194948.jpg I also had my Magnaflow Y-Pipe installed today that I won from a DodgeTalk Facebook giveaway. While I was there, I discussed with the exhaust guy that I didn't like the way the crossover pipe went under the trans pan. We agreed that it would make servicing the transmission a pain and that it couldn't help keeping transmission temps down with all that exhaust heat running right under it. We came up with a plan to move the y-pipe back about eight inches and run the crossover pipe back: Factory design with "d-ports:" http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_153542.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_153559.jpg Done with Magnaflow y-pipe and crossover pipe moved back: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_161304.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_161318.jpg http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...928_161327.jpg That is it for now. I'm going to start using this thread to update instead of making new threads each time. Right now the plans are to add some painted door inserts to pull the doors into the overall interior look and then to custom paint the wheels. |
Truck has come a long way.
|
Yeah...I need to update more than once a year, lol.
|
Dang man!! Lookin good now!! As good as your truck looks now, I miss the look of the SRT wheels lol
|
Nice man, coming along nicely! Interior pieces look awesome

Just placed my order for the BBK headers. Matt (Moes Performance) throws in a set of OEM Mopar gaskets so I saved that and he ships for free! I just paid $399 out the door. They won't ship until after the 20th but at least now I don't have money burning a hole in my pocket.
|
That's a hell of a price for headers! It's cool that he throws in the OEM gaskets. The ones that came with my JBA headers were crap.
