The only thing I can think of is the whole "competing sites" thing...but honestly, I think if people want to cause friction because of two internet sites they need to stay home and try to color in the lines.

Ok so scratch that they have moved us back to the west parking lot

West coast is the best coast!
-Tupac |
Wow, lol.

Registered and paid, damn peer pressuring mofo's.

I'll be there Friday sometime, Ready to kick it. Where are we eating, casa el Dave?
|
Haha awesome! Glad you decided to join the rest of us!
|

Better take lots of pictures dudes! |
i wish you could too Kyle, im not bringing the camera too many pics of cars on my mac already
|
I guess I'll see you fellas Saturday.
I am leaving from the the QT by the Hardrock Casino at noon on Saturday if anyone wants to convoy. |
Think you could make it to our little group picture if we did it around the time you get in to town?
|
I'll be in about 2 ish I hope. Is that enough time?
Dave I'll pm you my number so you can have it. I have Mikes... |
I'm on the road!
|
Got it Al, thank you. Good to hear Jesse.
So, does two o' clock on Saturday work for everyone for the group pic? |
Yes...provided I can get there right at 2. Will this be at the casino?
I'd like to clean the bugs off my grille first. Is there a car wash nearby? |
I just thought about that. You are coming from up north, right? The spot I posted pics from in the other thread is a place right in the middle of Norman. We could do 3 if you like so that you have time to clean her up...just let me know what will work for you.
|
Yeah I'm not sure of anything as this is out first trip back to OKC since we moved here. I also have some other folks coming that'll need to get to the casino first.
Where did you want to shoot pics? Is it easy to get to from I-35? Why don't you pm me your cell so I can call you when I get there? |
Just got done with the GPMM bricktown/Dave N Busters trips....time for some burnt rubber and expensive gas! :)
|
I've cleaned and polished everything but the bed and undercarrage. One isn't going to get done for sure.
|
Had a great time at the track guys, see y'all tomorrow!
|
No pictures..... WTF?
|
It was a blast....I'm sure the pictures will start showing up soon! Great turnout of trucks this year, way more than the three from last year!
|
it was just a reminder of how badly i need a black srt charger
|
Then you could be 1 of 200
|
It was definitely another LX fest...theres just not enough truck interest. I find that weird since we are in Oklahoma, but what can you do.
|
We'll just have to make some truck interest... with our own show :fuckyea:
|
I talked to several people about my truck. Far more than at most shows I've been to. I enjoyed the chats I had and the suprised views from folks I spoke with. Scroll down to the last paragraph
I'm more confused that vehicles won in more than one class when they were clearly marked...or were they? Maybe because my truck is so >ahem< unique that most people aren't sure what to say. I believe the comments refering to my truck as "2nd generation" are humorous. I think its a nice DODGE...or Mopar. I know...it's an age thing. I got a big dose of that reality yesterday. Lastly...the mind set of most Okies is that trucks are work vehicles, not statements of automotive talent. The idea of a "show truck" isn't well established here. I've heard those comments myself. My truck should be covered with mud and cowcrap from repairing fences...Really? Welcome to the 21st century, Oklahoma. EDIT: Despite it being an "LX" fest...many "classic" (gods how I hate these terms) owners still don't recognise modern muscle as valid. I can sorta see that with all the mural work and neon, but can remember when murals on muscle cars were quite trendy back in the 70's as well. |
I probably came off wrong above...
I did get to chat with quite a few people about my truck, especially a gentleman with a brand new '12 Laramie who raved about a number of things I had done to my truck. He was blown away by the interior paint work and I even went over to his truck and helped him lay out a paint scheme that he seemed very interested in. He also loved my headlights (yes JJ, he has one of the big cards and seemed genuinely interested) and we talked for a while about what he could do with his (again JJ, he's thinking of adding a projector and shroud, in chrome, and just pulling the orange reflector for a nice, clean, OEM look). I had a blast with the ORC guys. I got to meet some new ones this weekend, see a couple I had not seen in a while, and hang out with those that I see on a regular basis. It was nice to see so many members out there who were active and not just keeping to themselves. We got new window decals, talked about the issues many people have with the site itself (namely the lack of support we get), took a lot of pictures (I know guys, I'm getting to it), and even, in my opinion, determined our official drink. So, with that being said, "Adios Mother Fuckers!" |
I was glad to put names with faces finally as well. It was especially cool to see the quality of the trucks on the internet up close and personally.
I'd left the grain bins early to go and help Landon, but my help wasn't needed. Colton's offer to move all our stuff down the row was very welcomed and I wished I had been closer to you guys, but also to my Tulsa group. I was simply worn out from the heat. Tim was such a nice neighbor for putting up with my "old guy" advice. Lets be honest...most of you guys are my kids age or younger. We're not going to make a lot of conversation... and I like people watching. That being said, I wish I would've been invited or at least been told about the "pic fest" you all did about dusk. |
Those pictures were a last second idea that just started with one guy asking me to take some...then they just started lining up. Those pictures were taken almost directly behind where your truck was parked.
|
Yeah I noticed about the time we were packing up. Traci said something to me and I just shrugged. I would've walked down to the area you were at but we were on a roll and I wanted the truck loaded.
By the time we'd finished it was pretty dark. There will be other opportunities Dave. So it's all good. |
We were overwhelmed with the number of vehicles that showed up, plain and simple. We had 80 pre-register, only 63 of those showed up. With that said we ended up with 93 paid registrations. If I had known we would have that kind of turnout I would have split the rams into eith stock and modified or pre-2009 and 2010+ or whenever the generation change was. I do appreciate y'all coming out and supporting the event and hope you will be back next year
|
It was a great show guys. I'm not disappointed at the turn out, there were a lot of beautiful rides there. Next year we need to make our appearance at the track to do away with the work truck stereotype. My only problem with the show is that with so many chargers not one of them asked me to test drive their car and roast the tires off, what kind of shit is that?
Al that photoshoot was last second and went bananas, notice no pics of Dave or myself. Sounds like we just need another meet, soon. It was great to meet more of my FDO's and to hang with all of you. I think instead of the adios mother fucker we need to have a series of drinks in rapid succession 2 red bull and vodkas + 1 adios motherfucker ---------------------------- Konichiwa Bitches I felt great and I hate drinking. |

If you haven't figured it out yet, I don't give a flyin' ratz azz what anyone thinks of my truck. Keep on walkin' and don't bother talkin'. Again, no biggie on the pics...there will be other times. I just sit and drink my frozen margaritas...wasted away watching the sun go down...if I don't have to drive home. :) |
The show was definitely awesome! I enjoyed meeting the few I haven't and hanging out with the ones I do know. It was a great time, I'm ready for another meetup already!
