BMRbrnSNRbrd 12-09-2011 08:50 PM

Should have sent it to my house.

(S.M.R) 101 12-09-2011 10:10 PM

^^ hahaha.. I have some 12's and a 1000 watt amp if you want it :D

I got it all hooked up and it sound amazing! It sounds like the 2 12's but more firm and the sound is smooth... it beats.. I just wish I could tune it better. I'm prolly going to take it to an audio shop and have it custom tuned when I get the new amp.

I'm telling you what, unbolting the seats was a bitch! that took forever

I'll get some day pictures tomorrow

ramthis9501 12-09-2011 10:34 PM

That was quick lol can't wait to see pics

Matt 12-09-2011 10:36 PM

just realized looking at that box that i've had one before lol i had 2 kicker L5 10s in my truck in one ... and the seat isn't that bad lol chevy's are way more of a bitch i've had mine out a dozen times or so lol

(S.M.R) 101 12-09-2011 11:23 PM

I just meant that the bolts did not want to go along with the program.. once I got them loose it was all gravy from there.

Here is a quick video.. Prolly sound better if you had computer speakers.... Or heard it in person lol..

Like I said I'll have pics tomorrow

Ohh.. and the amp has not overheated since I put the new sub in... I got about an hour of straight playing it and it got warm but not hot like it use too... Strange

Usually after about 20min of continous play it got so hot you could not touch it. and I always had to turn the bas all the way down.

ramthis9501 12-09-2011 11:47 PM

Those things hit pretty good! Congrats on the system!

(S.M.R) 101 12-10-2011 12:09 AM

Thanks dude lol.. I love it

(S.M.R) 101 12-12-2011 04:53 PM

Got my amp in today!

http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/...s/IMG_1085.jpg

I already have it hooked up... and this amp is what I hoped it would be :D sounds awesome

OklaHemi 12-12-2011 06:55 PM

those new alpines are sexy mfer's that is a nice set up you have now kyle. i think those seat bolts have thread lock on them hence the pita. i love my type-r's they handle all the abuse i give them just like a good wife

(S.M.R) 101 12-12-2011 07:26 PM

i'm going to say you had the ohm load too low on the old amp and that's what was causing those issues ...

(S.M.R) 101 12-13-2011 12:45 AM

yeah I have no idea what the hell I did with that amp.. but this new one I got matches that sub perfect.. It's really clean and crisp and really pounds the lows.... well as good as it can in that box with the space provided.

myoung84 12-13-2011 12:32 PM

Glad you got everything up and running!

OklaHemi 12-15-2011 07:00 PM

that is awesome, a system is the bees knees in my book

(S.M.R) 101 12-15-2011 08:22 PM

Yeah dude I really like it... Sounds awesome I will prolly be upgrading all door speakers next.

(S.M.R) 101 01-16-2012 10:37 PM

So I got a score today!

Buddy of mine bought all new Alpine type S Doore speakers (front & back) with the intentions of doing up his sound but he ended up buying a new chally 2 days ago..... So he hooked me up with all 4 speakers for 75 bucks!

I got the 2 front doors done but it started sleeting and snowing so I had to stop. They sound really good.

Thanks Mike for the help today brotha

ramthis9501 01-16-2012 10:47 PM

Sweetness

OklaHemi 01-17-2012 10:33 PM

glad i could help. do you have a 4 channel? if not you are going to want one. i have the pdx-4.100 and i love it. then you can run all new speaker wire to the doors yea!

(S.M.R) 101 01-18-2012 12:56 AM

Na it's just a mono amp.. I might hook up another amp down the road if I don't buy another truck

and going through door boots which sucks lol and honestly it doesn't make an audible difference in any of them that i've done... so much so that i stopped doing it in my vehicles i just tap into the factory wiring

OklaHemi 01-18-2012 02:15 AM

it wasnt too bad and it made me feel better. the rear was a pita, the front took 20-30 mins maybe, and i had never done it. you may be right, it may not make an audible difference but if im going to spend money on the speakers, the amp, and the amp kit. I cant rationalize running a 4awg power wire, 4awg ground wire and running spliced 20-22 awg factory speaker wires. i dont know what the oem wires resistance is im sure it maybe more than enough to handle my 100w +/- per channel but i know for fact that my 16 gauge rf wire will handle it all and more. and yes i know that once a certain size wire is reached increasing the thickness further has no effect. but i dont know that size so i guessed, and it was good

yeah by no means am i criticizing you or saying you shouldn't have done it lol just for me i don't do it anymore for my rides or my customers most stock speaker wire is between 18-20 on newer cars and you're probably gaining a few extra watts to each speaker from lack of resistance so it's definitely not hurting anything and the best way to do it

i'm going to have to go through my boots when i do my door pods bc i'll be running 3 different stages of speakers 6 per front door total i can see that being all kinds of fun lol

OklaHemi 01-18-2012 12:34 PM

Now I cant wait to see that. I wonder if you could use an aftermarket boot of sorts and just drill a couple of 1/2"-3/4 " holes. I dont know if any one makes one but they should. Maybe 2 grommets and some flexible wire cover, it could look good.
